Dermalux LED Light Therapy Sessions

Dermalux LED Phototherapy is a non-invasive, award-winning treatment that can rejuvenate tired skin, with tangible results after just one treatment.

Dermalux uses the power of light therapy to stimulate the repair of skin damage. The effect of sun light on the skin has long been associated with damage, and many skin care experts advocate limiting exposure. However, LED light has many positive aspects that make light essential. Dermalux LED uses state of the art technology and the latest in clinical research to deliver a safe level of light that the skin needs, providing an effective treatment for a multitude of skin conditions, and does so without any pain and no downtime.

Dermalux LED can be used to treat a range of skin concerns, including sun damage, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and scarring, amongst other conditions. The type of light, and to what level it is required, used in the Dermalux LED treatment must be completely personalised to you. A consultation will allow Liv at Skyn & Glo to prepare adequately for this, and suggest other treatments that can be used in conjunction with Dermalux LED that can allow you to get the best possible results for you.

FAQ: What’s the Dermalux LED Phototherapy procedure?

It involves exposing skin to low levels of light energy. This stimulates cellular processes in the skin, providing an energy boost to stilled or slowed functions. Skin cells that have been energised regenerate at an increased paced, which improves the overall look of the skin, transforming a dull or tired complexion until it is healthy, radiant, and far more youthful looking.

Dermalux LED uses three types of LED light, either singularly and in combination.

🔵 Blue LED: Has anti-bacterial properties, and is ideal for treating acne and congested skin. It also provides a skin tightening effect, and can be used for the treatment of Seasonal Affective Disorder, and bacterial and viral infections.

🔴 Red LED: Treats fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tones, and provides a soothing and hydrating boost to the skin.

🔵+🔴 A combination of blue and red LED is best for the treatment of scarring and inflammatory acne, as it reduces swelling and inflammation.

🟡 Near Infrared LED: This can be used to tackle problems in the deeper layers of the skin (muscle and bone), and is the most intense form of Dermalux LED treatment.‍

Dermalux® Near Infrared 830nm is the most deeply absorbed wavelength and works synergistically with red light for optimum rejuvenation results. Exposure to Near Infrared light at 830nm triggers the skins anti-inflammatory processes to accelerate repair and reduce irritation and redness. Near Infrared light builds strength and integrity for compromised, environmentally damaged and sensitive skin conditions. It is also clinically effective in the treatment of age spots and hyperpigmentation.

FAQs

What happens during Dermalux LED Therapy?

When you arrive at Skyn & Glo for your Dermalux LED phototherapy treatment, your skin will be gently double cleansed, ensuring any sunscreen, makeup and skincare products are removed; this is necessary to allow the beneficial light waves to penetrate your skin. Your skin will be exfoliated to remove the dead skin cells that are known to reflect the light.

Protective eyewear is required to be worn by every client in order to protect your eyes from the LED lights. For 20-30 minutes, you can relax

on a comforting electric blanket while a special overhead panel directs light waves onto your skin. The treatment is completely pain-free, and will give your skin a natural, glowing boost.

When will I see results?

With LED light therapy, the results are visible immediately. After just one treatment, you will notice that your skin looks really hydrated, naturally radiant, and any redness should be calmed.

For longer lasting results, people may need several sessions as opposed to a single “skin pick-me-up session”. Treatments taken in quick succession will achieve optimum results, and top-up treatments will likely be recommended. Please see the Dermalux Packages for more information.

Will I need to take time off after my treatment?

‍There is no downtime, so no, you won’t need to take any time off after your treatment!

How long should the results from Dermalux LED Therapy last?

The results of Dermalux™ LED phototherapy can last for several months when a client has undergone treatment course. This said, it is always advised to have top-up treatments to maintain results. As light therapy does not harm the skin, there is no limit to the amount of treatments you can have.
